The ancient city of Ma Gang, located in Dongmen Street, Honghe County, Yunnan Province, is mainly composed of Dongmen City Tower, Yao Chuju's Chinese and Western residence and Qian Erguan Maze compound. They were all built in the early years of the Republic of China and have a history of more than 70 years. This building complex is the most complete, beautiful and majestic Chinese and Western, traditional Qing-style residential building complex in our county, with a total construction area of more than 20000 square meters. It has the reputation of "Jiangwai Architecture Grand View Garden". In 2003, it was listed as a provincial historical cultural relic protection unit.
The Honghe County Government is one of the three major hometowns of overseas Chinese in Yunnan Province, and it still retains nearly a hundred ancient residential buildings. The Sa Dongmen ancient building complex is located in Dongmen Street, the county seat. The entire ancient building complex is composed of 6 single buildings, covering an area of 4500 square meters, a building area of more than 20000 square meters, and more than 120 rooms. The ancient building complex includes Dongmen Building, Yao Chuji Residential Building, Yao Chuji Backyard, Qian Erguan Residential Building, Qian Erguan Annex Building, and 3 private residential buildings. They were all built in the early years of the Republic of China, with a history of more than 70 years, and have the reputation of "Grand View Garden of Architecture outside the River. In 2003, it was listed as the sixth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units by the provincial government, and in 2013, it was listed as a national historical and cultural relics protection unit. The building complex is the most complete, beautiful and majestic Chinese and Western style and traditional Qing style residential building complex in Honghe County. It has high historical, artistic, scientific research and ornamental value. It is also a microcosm of the county's horse gang history and culture.
Landscape
In order to dig deeper into the history of caravan culture, fully reflect the culture of overseas Chinese hometown, and improve the taste and connotation of tourism in Honghe County, the renovation project of Dongmen ancient buildings has been completed, with a total renovation area of 4500 square meters. The Honghe Mabang Ancient City Scenic Area has successfully passed the evaluation of the national AA-level scenic spot in May 2013, and completed the preparation of the protective development design plan of the Mabang Manor, with the goal of "development in protection and development to promote protection". Make every effort to revitalize the resource advantages of the ancient buildings in the hometown of overseas Chinese, and enhance the attractiveness of the scenic spot and tourism competitiveness.
In October 2014, the renovation project of Dongmen Building and Yissa Dwellings in Honghe County started. The outer walls of Yao Chu's backyard, Qian Erguan, and the side houses have been repaired, including wood substitutes, anti-corrosion, insect prevention, and floor tiles for bedding. Yao Chu's courtyard and the east gate building have been repaired, and some inner walls of Yao Chu's courtyard are being repaired. The renovation of the state-owned Dongmen Building, Yao Chu Hospital, backyard, Qian Erguan and wing houses will also be completed in the near future.
