A caravan is the name given to a group of horse-driving men and their mule horses organized in a customary manner. The caravan is a unique mode of transportation in the southwest region, and it is also the main means of transportation on the ancient tea-horse road. Horse gangs were the main means of transport in modern Yunnan. The so-called Yinsheng City Boundary is the area of Simao and Banna today. However, due to the constraints of many factors such as traffic conditions and means of transport, a large amount of tea has been waiting in the mountains. The intervention of Yunnan caravan provides a means of transportation for the large number of outward transportation of Pu'er tea. According to the Long Compendium of Continued Yunnan Tongzhi, during the period of the Republic of China, "Yunnan tea was sold not only to the province, but also to Sichuan, Kang and Tibet, and to Annan, Siam, Burma and the coastal provinces along the Yangtze River in China ...... Shijiu relies on mules and horses, and few people get the money from waterway trains.
